Description
A warm and comforting chili recipe that’s easy to make in a crockpot, perfect for feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth (or vegetable broth)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
- Transfer the cooked beef to the crockpot.
- Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped onion, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and broth to the crockpot.
- Stir all the ingredients until well mixed.
- Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or on high for 240 minutes (4 hours).
- Adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
Notes
For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. Let the chili sit for a while after cooking for improved flavor.
