Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, ensuring everything is well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined—avoid overmixing.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
