Description

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.333 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened for frosting
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder for frosting
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Melt 0.5 cup of butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of white sugar until well combined.
  4. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; beat well.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine 0.333 cup cocoa powder, 0.5 cup flour, 0.25 teaspoon salt, and 0.25 teaspoon baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is dry and edges are pulling slightly away from the pan.
  8. Let cool briefly before making the frosting.
  9. For the frosting, combine 3 tablespoons softened butter, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  10. Frost the brownies while they are still warm.
