Ingredients
- 0.5 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.333 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened for frosting
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder for frosting
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square pan.
- Melt 0.5 cup of butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Stir in 1 cup of white sugar until well combined.
- Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; beat well.
- In a separate bowl, combine 0.333 cup cocoa powder, 0.5 cup flour, 0.25 teaspoon salt, and 0.25 teaspoon baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is dry and edges are pulling slightly away from the pan.
- Let cool briefly before making the frosting.
- For the frosting, combine 3 tablespoons softened butter, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Frost the brownies while they are still warm.
