A classic dish featuring a rich and creamy sauce with tender beef and mushrooms, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for cooking noodles or rice
- Noodles or rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef strips and cook until browned.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and garlic and sauté until translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Stir in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and add sour cream and Dijon mustard, mixing until smooth.
- Return the beef to the skillet and heat through, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve over buttered noodles or rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or Worcestershire sauce to the broth. You can customize by adding bell peppers or spinach.
