Description

A classic dish featuring a rich and creamy sauce with tender beef and mushrooms, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for cooking noodles or rice
  • Noodles or rice for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned.
  3. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add mushrooms and cook until soft.
  6. Stir in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. Reduce heat and add sour cream and Dijon mustard, mixing until smooth.
  8. Return the beef to the skillet and heat through, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve over buttered noodles or rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or Worcestershire sauce to the broth. You can customize by adding bell peppers or spinach.
