Deliciously thick chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and a soft, gooey interior, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 100 grams unsalted butter
- 120 grams light brown sugar
- 30 grams granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 220 grams all-purpose flour
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 100 grams chocolate chips (milk or dark)
- Extra chocolate chips for decoration
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until creamy (2-3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Add all-purpose flour, salt, and baking soda; mix until just absorbed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours (preferably overnight).
- Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
- Divide the chilled dough into 12 equal portions, rolling into balls and spacing them on a baking sheet.
- Press additional chocolate chips on top before baking.
- Bake for about 14 minutes or until golden brown, letting cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough before baking to enhance flavor and prevent spreading.
