Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter (113g), melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (240ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar (100g)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, tilting to spread evenly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
- Evenly distribute the sliced bananas over the batter.
- Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the bananas and batter. Add nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Test doneness with a toothpick.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Best served warm.
