Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or a mix)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
