Soft, chewy, and perfectly crispy bakery-style chocolate chip cookies that bring back childhood memories.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add it to the creamed mixture until just blended.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
