Description

A delicious and easy Baked Chicken Parmesan featuring crispy chicken, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush each chicken breast with olive oil and dip it into the breadcrumb mixture, coating it well.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in Italian dressing before breading. Use fresh herbs if available.
