A delicious and easy Baked Chicken Parmesan featuring crispy chicken, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Brush each chicken breast with olive oil and dip it into the breadcrumb mixture, coating it well.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast, then top with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in Italian dressing before breading. Use fresh herbs if available.
